Some useful notes prepared by our Chief Co-ordinator and other useful details.
1) Always endeavour to protect your neighbours' property as if were your own.
2) If you see something happening that you suspect to be criminal DIAL 999 without hesitation.
3) If you have something to report to the Police that has already happened telephone Norbury Police station on 020 8649 1103, or South Norwood Police Station on 020 8649 1220/1/2.
PRECAUTIONS to be taken:
a) Fit good quality dead-locks to all doors and windows.
c) Fit good padlocks to all garden sheds,
d) Fit P.I.R. controlled halogen lights to illuminate, automatically, vulnerable approaches to the front and rear of your property.
e) Wherever possible install reliable burglar alarms and preferably those that connect your property to "Central Station" so that the Police may be made aware immediately of any unlawful intrusion upon your property and so may react accordingly. The latter alarm systems are less costly that is generally believed and when one's home is at stake are a good investment. They are, of course, less intrusive than grilles and bars on all windows and probably less expensive.
DO, PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES AND YOUR NEIGHBOURS AND ALWAYS REMAIN VIGILANT. This way we combat crime in a very real and responsible way.
Never hesitate to dial 999. The Police would prefer you to make a mistake than allow yourself or others to be in jeopardy.
