Including 12 people in 5 families who intermarried (and two of the families were first cousins). They often went out or on holiday together and the 5 marriages include two of my grandparents, two great-uncles, one great aunt, a first cousin twice-removed and also the last survivor from my grandparents' generation who was born in 1891 and died in the year 2000 age 108.

SOME FURTHER NOTES:

The mother of the Sanders above is Lizzie Louisa Hill, who is a sister to George John Hill the father of the Hills above, so the Hills and Sanders above are first cousins.

The father of the Whitlocks above is George Whitlock who worked on the ferry to Vlissingen and knew the father of the De Smits above, Carolus Franciscus De Smit, who was a captain of the Vlissingen pilot boats.

There were many other members of this group of friends, but no others who married into my family as far as I know.  The close friends included the Charringtons: Helen Margaret Charrington (Nolly), Bessie Charrington and Sid Charrington and a Freddie Hammer and others.  Jack & Edith Knibb were later friends - having met Rose Annie Cossins (nee Sanders) and her husband Hubert when they all moved into the new houses in Spring Grove Crescent, Lampton - presumably in the very late 20s or early 30s.

The Hill page - more details of the Hill family above.

The Walsh page - more details of the Walsh family above.
