The death of William Ball
Introduction
     I'm searching for the baptism of Lydia Ball, probably born around 1818 / 1819 in either Marylebone or Westminster; father William.  See this page which covers all the details. 

     On her marriage certificate on 08 Oct 1849 at AEnon Baptist Chapel in Church Street, Marylebone, it gives her father as William Ball  a Serjiant of Police (and does not say deceased, so presumably still alive).  Lydia's address is in Marylebone.  
     Later I found in the PRO records: William Ball in the Metropolitan Police: number 24833, joined 11 Oct 1847 resigned 15 Jan 1854, and given a gratuity.  
     So William Ball must have been alive in Jan 1854.  If his daughter Lydia was born before 1820, then presumably William was born before 1804.  So I decided to search for the death certificate of William Ball.  I realise it may not tell me much (and indeed it's possible I wouldn't recognise it when I saw it), but it may be worth a try; so:
